AIM and Chhipa Foundation jointly sponsored a public meeting for Amaresh Misra on July 26 in
Woodbridge ,VA , a suburb of. Misra who lives in Mumbai is a well known historian, author and journalist in Washington DC .. He was on a month long visit to various cities in US. India
Addressing about seventy people of origin in
India , Misra talked about the lack of social justice and police high-handedness towards the poorer segments of society inand the religious minorities. He said that in the aftermath of the frequent bomb blasts that are occurring in India these days, police arrests a large number of people from among the religious minorities and hold them in jail without having any proof. These people have almost no access to lawyers who can get them justice in courts. He asked the audience to provide legal help to these hapless victims of police injustice. India
