2. RELIEF and REHABILITATION PROGRAM
1987:
The AIM Relief and Rehabilitation Fund established
to help the needy Muslims in India.
1991:
Organized a fundraising dinner, collected
$15,000 in donations and distributed them to victims of communal riots in various Indian
cities.
1998:
Raised and distributed relief funds ($4,000) for the
victims of cyclones in Orissa and Gujarat.
1999:
Raised and distributed relief funds ($4,000) for the
victims of the massacres in Kosovo.
2001:
Raised and distributed relief funds ($20,000) for the
victims of the earthquake in Gujarat.
2002/2003:
The Gujarat genocide: In the aftermath of
the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat, organized fundraising events in several cities in Eastern US,
collected about $200,000, and distributed the money to the victims in Gujarat
through several charitable organizations. The funds were utilized to
build a very
large number of houses and re-build damaged houses for the thousands
of victims of the 2002 genocide of Muslims in Gujarat.
